Exhibition Statements 2022

Degree Show Statement:

I am a multidisciplinary conceptual artist who explores the ideas and concepts of loss and personal grief. 

Using a range of materials and processes from 2D - 3D I have formatted this project around the themes of grief, more specifically my own mothers passing in January 2021 and the aftermath of the event, looking closely at ‘loss’ as a broader idea, for example loss of words from others around me, emotion, feelings, loss of happiness and lack of communication from others.

This experience has made me shift my art practice in an entirely new direction, from previously working predominantly 2D with pen and paper to branching out into more 3D materials with them being more conceptual and engaging.

The use of photographs and book letters/ pages work together to communicate the importance of images and words/ memories and communication.
